Wooing social media pundits is not an easy feat, but YouTuber Aashqeen has managed to do that with his channel Aashqeen and much more. A youtuber with over 2.2 million subscribers, Aashqeen is all set to debut in his own web series that will talk about the struggles of YouTuber. Talking to him, we find out more.

Being a YouTuber is a new age job where you either make it or you don’t and in Aashqeen’s case, he did but after going through a lot. “It all started way back in college while I was pursuing my engineering. I found that I had a funny side when I was going through a dark phase.  I started creating content with my old friend, which eventually became my goal. I shot my first comedy video in college with a friend, who is my business partner now,” he shares adding that his parents were not supportive of this career choice however, his elder sister helped him throughout.

On the kind of content one can find on his channel, he shares, “I love observing people, their behaviour, and the countless stories that they have to narrate.

They are my inspiration. Sometimes, I knock up stories by myself which is followed by a bit of brainstorming, jamming and that’s it, I’m done.”

Aashqeen believes that when one takes up an unconventional path, hurdles, are part of the package. When asked what were the hurdles he faced? “For me, the biggest challenges is to read the mind of the audience whom I am target, getting to know what content they would like, and lastly, how are we going to meet their expectations? Another was creating quality video with limited equipments and also insufficient amount of viewership,” he shares adding that overtime, he surpassed that too.

In the digital space, the genres that do well are romance, comedy, thriller and even travel. Through his web series — SUPERSTAR - The Chant Launda, Aashqeen wants to break this process. He shares, “The idea was to showcase this journey on screen and make everyone aware of what all goes into it. We want to change the mindset of people towards the profession which is still not considered as a viable career option.”

Talking about his web series, Aashqeen adds, “It is the story of Raunak Pandey (played by me) who wants to become India’s favourite YouTuber against the will of his parents. It is to some extent inspired by my own real-life story/journey. The series features Mahesh Gehlot as Manohar, Lavina as Pushpa, Mohit Raj as Mishra and Rahul Aswal as Pathak playing pivotal roles.”

This web series is aimed at everyone who appreciates good content and has an eye for it. He adds, “This is also for the youth who have immense potential and the talent to create content and want to start their YouTube journey. Last, but not the least, this series also aims at everyone who thinks that being a YouTuber is just a hobby and one that cannot be persuaded as a full time career.”

On a video that was most memorable to him he shares, “One is the Inteqam series where we created the iconic character of Bhaiya Ji. The very first video showcased the story of a guy who turns into a rickshaw-wala for a day just to say ‘no’ to the girl who once refused his proposal”. Also, two of our videos which I consider special are Never Judge Too Quickly and Things only Men Can Understand, which crossed 100 million views on Facebook. This was definitely a huge feat to achieve.”

For now, this lad is focusing on the web series and bringing out all the three episodes for viewers.  “The whole team is working really hard to deliver the very best of content to the viewers,” he adds.
