MK Gandhi has not only given us values of non-violence through a great freedom struggle, but there are some great philosophical quotes for introspection that will remain timeless across generations. These adages have always formed the crux of the Gandhian way but have the youth of today ever imparted it in their life?

‘Be the change that you want to see in the world’ was a philosophical quote from Gandhi. But everyone has their own take on it when it comes to applying it to different situations in life

According to Aparna Gautam, a global content marketing manager, this quote resonates equality. “I’m all about equality and respect for both genders. I have a 6-year-old boy and I’m teaching him to be equally respectful towards all genders and I’m not loading him off with things like boys don’t cry and also like things you must always be having a smiling face if things that you go through. So, I’m making him be real unlike how generally men in the society have been brought up. That’s something that I’m big on and I respect men who are open to emotions instead of keeping them bottled up instead and undergoing a lot of hardships. This is something that I’m incorporating in my own life and that’s the change that I would like to see in the world too”.

Anusha Swamy, an entrepreneur, believes, “Change is inevitable because everybody has to change at some point in time. There are two ways to change any situation - one is being upfront and other is being vulnerable. According to the different phases I deal with them. And instead of imposing this on anybody else I use these principles mostly on me”.

Anusha believes that quotes are not necessarily guidelines of life but rather life teaches you its own lessons along the way. “It gives you multiple chances to redeem yourself as a human and not hurt others”.

“I cannot tell anyone to change unless I see those changes inside me. Cohesive changes are essential to change everything around me. Do not react and try to respond is the path I follow and I don’t need anybody’s permission to change myself. Changing my software will change my hardware,” says Adil Hussain, Actor.
