They know when you’re worried and they always know how you feel and love you unconditionally. Yes! Pets are the biggest support system and here’s a chance to give back to them the love and time they deserve! Pet Fed is organising their second edition of the pet festival. Here’s what you can look forward to!

Speaking about what activities one can look out for this year, Akshay Gupta the founder of the organisation says, “This year we have focused a bit more on cats, with a massive area exclusively for cats, we also have an international cat show happening with judges from Russia and Poland. They will speak to cat parents and speak to them on the key aspects of cat keeping. The Bengaluru Police dogs will be performing at the event and this is my absolute favourite. They will be doing a public demo of bomb sniffing activities and exhibiting obedience demos on the stage.

This will help people realise that dogs are not just fun pets to play but also are useful in terms of being part of our protection forces. The event prohibits buying and selling pets and promotes adoption. The event also promotes desi dog breeds by offering the pet and its parent free entry.”

Reminiscing the previous edition Padmini Mehta shares with us her experience and more, “My 2 year-old shitzu – Oscar — loved the event. The pet festival has helped us connect with like minded people and learn some the basic expertise of dog parenting. Oscar was extremely shy initially, but by participating in the event he has become much more social also won a lot of competitions.”

Throughout the day our pets are confined to the four walls and it is essential for them to step out and exert the energy. In a country like ours where pets are not allowed in restaurants, cinema halls and even public transports it is essential to find time for them. Hence a weekend dedicated to your pets being at their energetic best is definitely a boon.

Ishita Singh a cat mommy speaks about her pet Neko and how the event helped her and her cat. She recalls, “The fest was packed with dogs, cats and their humans. There were numerous stalls for pet products all over. Eko is wary of cats so she didn’t mingle but she got a chance to play on the cat trees that were present in the dedicated cat play area.”

Spending time with the animals we take under our care is vital for their happiness because of the strong bond that forms between humans and their pets. Ishita speaks about Neko’s perks, “Neko is an inside cat so when we go out to cat friendly places, she becomes inquisitive. Taking her to PetFed last year was an entirely different experience for her. She doesn’t mingle but she was curious about the other pets throughout the duration of our time there, even if it ended up with her hissing and scaring away even the biggest of dogs. I look forward to taking her again this year.”
