Bengaluru: Professors can dance! The groovy moves of a 46-year-old professor from Bhopal have set the cyberworld on fire with over 17,09,468 hits in under 48 hours! The dance moves of the foot-tapping, nimble-footed Sanjeev Shrivastava from Madhya Pradesh, Govinda overtones and all, has raced to the most watched clip in recent times. 

His moves, set to a track from a 1987 Govinda-starrer film ‘Khudgarz’, has Shrivastava, stunned by his overnight success, incredible celebrity status. He responded with wit too, saying that the recognition he had chased as a teenager has found him in middle age! 

He says he owes it all to his mother, a classical dancer, from whom he learnt some of his best moves. “I started dancing when I was very young and perfected it over time. I performed on stage for the first time at the age of 10 and won the first prize,” recalls Shrivastava, known affectionately as ‘Dabbu’, as he speaks to Deccan Chronicle from his home in Vidisha.

The video of him dancing at a relative's wedding was posted on Facebook on Thursday and has won rave reviews ever since. Even Bollywood celebrities like Raveena Tandon and Divya Dutta have chipped in with praise, as did political bigwigs like Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

“Ardent Govinda fan, Well done!” Bhaag Milkha Bhaag  actress Divya Dutta tweeted.

“This is completely unexpected. I can't believe I’m receiving so much love from my countrymen and being talked about by the entire nation. I thank everyone for the love and support,” he says.
