Poetweet: This website makes tweets into poetry
So we did Donald Trump, Kim Kardashian and some more.
So here's how Poetweet works, enter the desired Twitter handle and the ingenious website will transform the tweets into the poetry they were always meant to be.
After entering the Twitter handle, the website gives you the option of transforming those well thought out, brilliantly written 140-characters into three types of poems: a sonnet (Shall I compare thee anyone?), a rondel (French lyric poetry) , or indriso (a 3-3-1-1 format created by comtemporary Spanish poet Isidro Iturat) .
In a few second Poetweet presents to you the most skewed looking poem, with a very interesting title, and while it may not be poetic perfection it is great fun to see what will come up next.
So while participating in the madness of Poetweet, we decided to poetify (It is a word on Urban dictionary) Donald Trump, Kim Kardashian West, Chriss Pratt, Chrissy Teigen and Paris Hilton.
The website is the creation of the Brazil Contemporary Art center, b_arco, in Sao Paolo and the service is available in English and Portugese.
"The poems are made by combining all user tweets and finding rhymes between them, creating curious results and sometimes surreal," the center explains via a web translator. "The site encourages the discussion of what is poetry and the final screen calls upon the interested: 'How about now create real? Meet the cultural center b_arco.'
The art center offers creative writing workshops and launched Poetweet in order to spread the word about their programs.
