Gone are the days when truth or dare and beer pong were the most exciting drinking games. Cards Against Humanity, the most popular drinking game in the USA, is gaining hype among the youth of the city today!

Described as ‘a party game for horrible people,’ card game in which players complete fill-in-the-blank statements using typically offensive or politically incorrect words or phrases, that are printed out on the cards, this game comes at a time when Trumpisms are being trolled. It is known for being as ‘despicable and awkward as you and your friends’! And youngsters in the city are already hooked to it!

The snarky game has simple rules where, in each round, one player asks a question from a black card, and everybody else answers with their funniest white card. “It is a brilliant way to use thinly veiled crass humour to deflect the horrific situations of the world,” opines Sanjitha Reddy a corporate employee, who was introduced to the game recently by her American relatives.

“The most awkward response I received was when the questions was ‘The award for not giving a damn about what — goes to — and my responses were ‘Third world countries’ and ‘God’,” recalls the corporate employee. The game which is now even available online, can be offensive to certain people, according to Prasanth Narayanan, a student of Urban Planning.

“The questions aren’t aimed at making people take offense and are  very contextual. The game is based on how a person perceives a question, but it depends on the person playing it. I found the game pretty funny and knew it was harmless. I took it as a joke, but people can be quite touchy about things,” says the student, who also joked about wanting to create an Indian version.

The simple concept, backed up by satirical content, has also come up with a much-talked-about Donald Trump special pack, which contains a hand-picked number of goods like gas masks, food rations and even an applicant to become a resident of Mexico! “I think it’s only a matter of time before you find out if these predictions turn into reality, ” says Anjali Sharma, a student from the cit, adding, “it would make for an excellent drinking game here, and lead to debates too.”
