Wellness needs to be a part of every aspect of our lives or every dimension of our lives.
In wake of rising suicides, the need to examine ourselves in the urban milieu becomes increasingly important. In tune with this, the Radiant Wellness Conclave was held in the city on Saturday night, to address aspects of wellness in all its nine dimensions that form a complete chakra of interconnected and mutually dependent needs of a human being. With a varied guest panel speaking on a range of topics from technological wellness to financial wellness, the conclave justified its purpose with experts from each field.
Inaugurated by MP M. K. Kanimozhi, her address included a talk on social wellness including gender rights, social acceptance and caste discrimination.
Olympian Abhinav Bindra, in conversation with Alexander David, shared his thoughts on physical wellness and how finding the right balance is critical for physical well-being.
While Josh Foulger, head of Foxconn India's speech touched upon the biggest technological trends of the decade and their role in the future of the wellness industry, environmentalist D Suresh spoke on environmental wellness and self sufficiency. Anil Lamba, author, activist, and trainer, shared the fundamentals of investing in the stock market.
The panel discussion on generic wellness moderated by Dr. Shashi Tharoor saw Abhinav Bindra, Barkah Dutt and Dr. Alok Chopra coming together to share about the different facets of wellness in their life and work. Speaking on intellectual wellness, journalist Barkha Dutt said "For intellectual wellness, let us not be scared of complexity".
Founder of the Conclave and city's well known wellness expert, Dr. Renuka David, conversing with director and author Meghna Gulzar, shared her thoughts about occupational wellness in the unstructured film industry. Dr. Alok Chopra, director of Daivam Wellness spoke on health wellness and functional medicine especially disease reversal and holistic living. Speaking on emotional wellness shared about her tryst with cancer & her determination to follow her passion in becoming a bestselling writer - "All of this fame, money, status will not answer the questions of the soul", she said.
The highlight of the evening was the panel discussion moderated by Col David Devasahayam, patron and CMD of Radiant Group, to commemorate and celebrate 20 years of Kargil victory by Indian armed forces.
This year's Radiant Wellness Conclave also introduced T.H.E Awards that honoured experts and organisations working in the field of Technology,
Health and Environment. The lifetime achievement award was presented to anti-suicide crusader, Dr. Lakshmi Vijaykumar of Sneha.
