The much awaited edition of TEDxGCT is back! The one-day annual event, which is held in Government College of Technology, Coimbatore on July 9th, will showcase several inspiring ideas to college going community. This year, it promises to be bigger, as the organisers have managed to rope in experts from various fields from across the country.
“We’re proud to have been associated with TEDx since 2013,” says Ram Niveth, who is the student-cum-PR for the event. He hopes that this year, the event will be more exciting, owing to the diverse nature of people they have managed to rope in — “TEDx GCT 2016 will try to give a clear picture of the issues we currently in the fog with. In previous years, we had local speakers but now we have crossed boundaries and domains. Among those who will be gracing the event are — Kanan Tandi (a trainer from the Centre for Body Language, Belgium), Nisha Daniel (an expert in teaching dyslexic students), Rahul Sasi (a white-hat hacker), Dr Pushparaj Soundararajan (professor in Madurai Kamaraj University), and P.A.Krishnan (an accomplished writer).”
Speaking about how the students are prepping to conduct an event of such magnitude on their own, the members of the core organising team say, “Though the event is completely organised by students, the management stands as a pillar of strength and supports all our decisions and requirements. We have managed to generate interesting ideas through various discussions within our team members.”
On a concluding note, Ram states their plans for the future — “In forthcoming editions, the event will be a compilation of reflections from various causes. We aspire to provide challenging platforms and vibrant opportunities for people to share their ideas and practical experiences for the betterment of the world.”
