Innovative' Sahrdaya College all-girl team bags award

Education Minister C. Raveendranath presents the cash prize of '1 to the all-girl team of Sahrdaya College of Engineering.

Thrissur: The all-girl team of Sahrdaya College of Engineering comprising Gokila Chandran, Reeba Roy Mannoor, Prabha John, Christy John, Ruksana Hamsa and Bijosha P bagged the first prize for their project Plastic Concrete Hollow Blocks at the 11th National Innovation Contest held as part of Techtop 2016 that ended on Saturday. Education Minister C Raveendranath presented the award to the winners. The second prize of Rs 50,000 was won by Amal Jyothi College of Engineering for their project Areinno-Arecanut dehusking tool and the third prize of Rs 30,000 went to Mumbai-based St. Francis Institute of Technology for their project ‘Intelligent Tablet Dispenser.’

Girls from Vidya Academy of Science & Technology won the All Women Team award for their project ‘Hand free PC Control using Tongue and Cheek’. They won a cash prize of Rs 20, 000. The Junior Innovation Challenge conducted for high school students had 13 projects on display. Of these KTCT Higher Secondary School of Trivandrum district won top honors of a cash prize of '25,000 for their project ‘Energy Saving Billing Control System.
