The recent Bengaluru mass molestation incident spurred a loud #NotAllMen trend online in a bid to show that misogyny is not widespread among men. But a 23-year-old man chose to speak out against this assertion in a Facebook post which soon went viral.

Rameez Shaikh, who is a freelance writer, explained how deeply the problem of the objectification of women has been ingrained in the male psyche. He also pointed towards how this type of thinking makes the issue of women’s consent to be something that can be compromised.
