Be it Elizabeth Banks' recycled look or Renee Zellweger's simple attire, the Oscars red carpet was beyond memorable.

The 92nd Academy Awards on Sunday night came as a breath of fresh air, in terms of the winners as well as the fashion on the red carpet. Right from sustainable dressing to luxury brands like Louis Vuitton, Oscar de la Renta, and Dior Haute Couture, the red carpet was an amalgamation of varied style sensibilities.

While Joaquin Phoenix and Brad Pitt took home the awards for Best Actor and Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Renée Zellweger — who took home the Best Actress award for Judy —also was among the winners for best dressed. Dressed in a custom Armani Privé white one-shouldered dress that showed off her curves, Zellweger chose to not accessorise her attire and chose understated makeup.

Another head-turner on the red carpet was Natalie Portman, who made a statement in a black cape dress by Dior. The Black Swan actress’ dress quickly became the talk of the Hollywood as it has names embroidered of women directors who were not nominated for Oscars this year.

While bold colours were not really seen on this year’s red carpet, celebrities still managed to make a statement in their neutral hues. For instance, Margot Robbie stunned in a vintage navy Chanel dress with cuff sleeves and a statement jewellery piece on the middle. Charlize Theron was breathtaking in a custom black Dior gown with a thigh-high slit and a single shoulder. Even Salma Hayek opted for a white Gucci gown. Marriage Story actor Scarlett Johansson also swiped the floor in her metallic off-shoulder Oscar de la Renta dress with a sheer netted corset and silver fringes.

Taking the sustainability route, actress Elizabeth Banks re-wore the red dress with the plunging neckline from her 2004 Oscars red carpet. Meanwhile, Booksmart actor Kaitlyn Dever opted for a Louis Vuitton dress that was made with an eco-friendly fibre called Tencel. Saoirse Ronan’s custom Gucci gown with a v-neck bodice was made from the leftover black satin from the dress that she wore to recently concluded BAFTA Awards.

Meanwhile, Billie Eilish showed off her usual funky style in a baggy Chanel white suit.
