Shaun Cunningham, from Florida saved his son from a flying baseball bat that was about to his face.

Cunningham took his son Landon for a Major League baseball game between the Atlanta Braves and the Pittsburgh Pirates. It was his son’s 9th birthday, but who knew this match would make the duo popular around the globe.

A moment came when Pirates player CF Andrew McCutchen swung his bat and lost it, the bat flew towards the cheering crowd.

Landon was busy sending the photos of the match to his mother and didn’t notice what was coming towards him, luckily his father noticed it and saved him an emergency room visit. Photojournalist Christopher Horner captured that very moment.

"It's been crazy, the last 24 hours have been out of control,” Shaun Cunningham, 37, told The New York Times.

“Thank God he has those reflexes, that bat was flying dead-center toward Landon's head,” ," Cunningham's wife, Ashley told TribLive.com.

The photo has received over 4,800 tweets and over 5,100 likes.
