Anne Hathaway shared a powerful message to slam body shaming of pregnant women
She posted the picture of a pair of jeans cut to make shorts
It’s disturbing how women have to face a lot of criticism for their pregnancy and post-pregnancy bodies, and this is an issue which plagues women in all walks of life, including the entertainment industry.
Hitting out at this attitude towards bodies of women after they give birth, actress Anne Hathaway shared a powerful message on her Instagram account, featuring a pair of jeans, cut short to make shorts.
The image was accompanied by text which read, "There is no shame in gaining weight during pregnancy (or ever). There is no shame if it takes longer than you think it will to lose the weight (if you want to lose it at all). There is no shame in finally breaking down and making your own jean shorts because last summer's are just too dang short for this summer's thighs."
The post comes after the Hollywood star gave birth to a son in April this year, and on her appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres show, said that she was horrified when a trainer asked her to lose weight instead of congratulating her for the baby.
