Noida thieves return wallet full of demonetised Rs.500 notes to owner
They even slapped and scolded him for not carrying Rs.100 notes.
The recent demonetisation of Rs. 1000 and Rs.500 Indian rupees notes had compelled many people to stand in long serpentine queues outside banks and ATM kiosks in order to get the new currency. And it’s not just shopkeepers who are now refusing to accept the old notes. Reportedly a man in Noida not only got his wallet back after it was stolen but also received a tight slap by the thieves for carrying the now worthless notes.
Vikas Kumar, a labourer, was walking back home at 11o’clock in the night when two bike-born men suddenly snatched his wallet and fled the spot. Before he could completely recover from the shock of being robbed, the two men came back and threw the wallet at him. They even slapped and scolded him for not carrying Rs.100 notes.
Although Vikas has not yet filed a police complaint, authorities have assured that they will investigate the matter thoroughly in case he approaches them for help.
