Mic drop: Woman's epic message on family WhatsApp group before exit goes viral
Want to leave your own family group? This just may inspire you to find the right way and words.
Ah family WhatsApp groups. It starts with a photo. Great way to share it with everyone right?
Then soon comes the good morning messages that probably wake you before your alarm. Then comes the annoying forwards and the jokes that not everyone finds funny. Not long after there maybe come the arguments for no reason and before you know it you've muted it and long for a way to get out of it.
Well one gutsy lady who got sick of the "unverified news, casual sexism and xenophobia" did just that. However, her way was smart and with love and may just inspire you to do the same, should you choose to leave.
Namaah, from Mumbai, posted on Twitter a screenshot of the message she sent to her extended family before quitting the group. "In today's personal victory, I quit my extended-family WhatsApp group, I cannot fully express the relief I feel," she wrote in a tweet that has gone viral.

In it, Namaah expresses her love towards her family and states why she feels it is necessary for her to leave. "As a person who feels strongly about sensitivity and social justice, I feel like I'd be doing a disservice to my truest convictions as a human being should I not voice these concerns," part of her message states.
The post has gained a lot of attention with 995 re-tweets and 3,066 likes.
Seems like a victory for her, was victory felt by many, as hundreds gave her props for her courageous act. Here are some of the reactions.
