A 28-year-old man has been sentenced to more than five years in jail for pouring a bucket of boiling water over the head of one of his colleagues back in 2015.

Kian-Wee Show, who worked at a fresh produce company Turners and Growers in Whakatu, on New Zealand’s South Island was upset after his colleague, Bin Wu, had taken a half-eaten hotdog from his girlfriend’s plate at lunch the previous day, according to stuff.co.nz.

CCTV footage of the incident shows Show standing next to a table of seated colleagues, blowing the steam off a cup of coffee. Seconds later he calmly walks over to the sink where he picks up a bucket and takes it to a hot water dispenser to fill it up. Show then walks across the cafeteria and pours the bucket of boiling water over Wu’s head while he is sitting eating his lunch.

What is the most unnerving part of the video is that towards the end, Show acts as if nothing happened and coolly returns to his table and resumes eating his lunch. Show had pleaded guilty to a charge of him wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm in court.
