Black woman alleges racism after flight crew refused to believe she was a doctor
The crew insisted on waiting for a white doctor to treat an unwell passenger and spoke to her rudely.

A black woman has claimed that she had been racially discriminated against after she was ‘not allowed’ to treat a serious patient while on a flight because a white air hostess couldn’t be sure that a lady of her colour could be a doctor.
Tamika Cross was on a Delta Flight to Detroit to attend a wedding and had offered to treat a passenger that had gotten ill but the crew insisted on waiting for a white doctor instead and spoke to Cross in a brusque tone.
Upset by the treatment meted out by the airline staff towards her, Tamika vented out her rage in a Facebook post. Here’s what she wrote:
