1 Was it difficult to establish yourself?
I have to say that the difficulty was internal. Without experience, I didn’t have confidence; although that may have paid off, in retrospect, because I worked harder than ever to prove myself.

2 Advice to an aspiring designer?
Open your eyes, your heart and your mind. Allow yourself to be moved, to immerse yourself and commit to an idea no matter how stupid or pointless it may
feel.

3 What mediums to do you prefer to work with?
As a designer, my work involves illustration, and the medium depends on what kind of a vibe I am creating for a brand. To create a whimsical dreamy feminine look, I would use watercolour illustrations. With its dense opacity, acrylic resembles the digital paintbrushes available on Photoshop.

4 Have you always wanted to become an artist?
Yes. Everybody should be an artist. It embraces the feminine in you, the scientist in you, the philosopher in you.

5 Challenges you faced when you started?
I didn’t have the processes that one should follow for different kinds of projects.

6 DC or Marvel?

Whichever one Wonderwoman belongs to.

7 If you could have a conversation with a historical figure right now, who would it be?
Mahatma Gandhi. To ask him how did he have the conviction to persevere with his avant garde ideas without being sure that they would work.

8 Your favourite movie?
I recently watched Franca on Netflix which left an impression on me. Franca Sozzani was the Italian editor of Vogue who changed our perception of fashion as we know it today.

9 Favourite book series?

This year is my year of reading historical fiction. Amitav Ghosh’s Ibis trilogy had be consumed for months.

10 The one dish that you can eat for the rest of your life?
Any kind of breakfast. One should eat only breakfast all day. You’re allowed to eat junky sweet things and consume copious amounts of coffee without guilt.
