Silky fitness!
Celebrity trainer Shruti Jasani, who is in Chennai, talks about her famous clients.
After aerial silk, a fitness fad, gained popularity over the past year, Shruti Jasani, an aerialist from Mumbai has become busy conducting workshops. In Chennai for an aerial silk dance workshop, this renowned celebrity aerial trainer talks about her journey.
Having worked with the likes of Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor, among many others, the trainer says, “All these actresses are really hardworking and dedicated. Though I get very little time to train them, I make the most of it. All the celebs I’ve worked with in the past are perfectionists and want to perform their best. As a trainer, I help them achieve this goal to the best of my abilities.”
The trainer insists that you’ll fall in love with the exercise very soon —“Instead of the rope/pole, we use a silk cloth that is tied to the ceiling. It helps build core and body strength. Strength and flexibility are the two main things that everyone seeks. Aerial silk helps you maintain the body and muscle tone. It also helps to retain the fitness level of your joints,” shares Shruti.
For people who consider daily gym sessions boring, aerial silk gives a different perspective. “There are different routines and various elements to this form of exercise. Every time you do an aerial silk routine, you explore a lot of different things. Your mind is motivated and pumped up every time you perform this gravity-defying workout! You will never feel like bunking a session,” reassures Shruti.
Everyone wants to look good and in one way this has led to an increase in the number of fitness junkies. “Well, at least to show off on social media, many are training hard and trying various workout routines,” she smiles.
Shruti, who loves to travel, feels that this fitness trend is suitable for all age groups and will help children as well. “Kids will learn certain skills like concentration, teamwork, coordination, etc. They can express themselves creatively through movement and dance and will be aware of their body and can increase their flexibility,” she sums up. Who’s ready to defy gravity already, now?
