Spectacular acrobatics mark city show
The event was organised by Bonjour India and Alliance Fran§aise of Madras.
For the very first time, Chennai witnessed a spectacular event Saturday evening at the Palladium launch. The evening was brought to life by the Transe Express with their acts —’Celestial Carillon’. An orchestra of bell-ringers, aerialists and face artists bewitched the audience and the bells could be heard ringing throughout the mall. Chennaites were awestruck and were seen holding their breath while watching them perform at a height of 50 meters. The event was organised by Bonjour India and Alliance Française of Madras.
Palladium hosts many international brands in exclusive stores not seen in the city so far. “There was a big gap. Chennai didn’t have a single luxury mall,” said Atul Ruia, JMD, Phoenix Mills Ltd., in the press meet prior to the launch while justifying the need of unveiling the mall in Chennai. According to the investor group, compared to Chennai’s art, culture, richness, there is hardly a single city in the country which has all this. “The luxury mall holds about 70 shops and around 200,000 sqft area at present”, informed Ruia. The mall took a selective perspective towards choosing the right brand for the new venture, that at least 20 brands out of those won’t be opened in the city in the next five years, shared the investors Atul Ruia, and Vijay Choraria, the MD, Crest Ventures Ltd.
