Bhopal: A nondescript village in Madhya Pradesh has hogged limelight for a buffalo. Heera, the “prized possession” of Munna Singh, a farmer of Ahmiya village under Rewa district, has commanded a price of Rs 4 crore by a bidder.
The bovine is a Murrah breed buffalo.
“A trader Harshvardhan Singh, hailing from the neighbouring district of Sidhi, approached Mr Singh on Tuesday with an offer to buy the jet black buffalo at a price of Rs four crore. But, he flatly refused to part with his prized possession which he considers a lucky charm for him,” Maninder Singh, the local villager, said.
According to him, five-year-old Heera, procured form Haryana four years ago by the farmer, sired two off-springs. The buffalo owner feels that his diary farm has witnessed unprecedented growth following arrival of Heera. Heera weighs over 1,000 kg and is around 9.5ft long and 5.5ft high.
