Twitter fights

The elections may be over, but the drama continues as leaders of political parties are busy mocking each other online.

The after-effect of the elections in Andhra Pradesh seems to be still lingering! While the leaders of the parties are greeting each other on their birthdays, the cadre is still finding it difficult to come out of the election hangover.

Just the other day, YSRCP MP Vijaysai Reddy and Vizag MP contestant from Janasena (JS) party, V.V. Lakshminarayana were at loggerheads, with both of them resorting to Twitter to take pot shots at one another.

It all started when Lakshminarayana,  said that his party (Janasena) alone would win 88 seats and form the government with alliances like Communists and the BSP.

However, Vijaysai Reddy mocked the former CBI Joint Director who investigated Jagan’s case by saying that Lakshminarayana might not have stated the facts correctly.

“You just contested in 65 seats. But Pawan Kalyan’s hardcore follower V.V. Lakshminarayana is predicting forming the government with 88 seats. Maybe even in the cases he investigated, Lakshminarayana may have written things which have not happened. Is this also Chandrababu Naidu’s briefing? (sic),” posted Vijaysai Reddy.

In a strong rejoinder to Reddy, Lakshminarayana shot back saying, “You’ve read CA and yet your math is still wrong. I wonder how this is possible. Please get your math right since we rely on truth and justice. Your numbers have already troubled many. At least now start good practice (sic).”

Nowehere does it show that both of them are not seasoned. However, Lakshminarayana states that it was Vijaysai Reddy who first started the war.

“Being in a responsible position, (MP) Vijaysai Reddy garu should first get the facts right. He can’t make any baseless allegations about our party. Since his tweets are directed towards us, we felt the need to give a strong rejoinder. Moreover, we are busy preparing Janasena’s policy and future course of action, so there’s a need to refute false allegations,” explains Lakshminarayana.

What’s even more interesting is that this mocking of opposition leaders on Twitter isn’t just confined to these two. TDP scion Nara Lokesh and TRS scion K.T. Rama Rao also took sarcastic digs at opposition leaders on the microblogging platform.

Mocking YSRCP Chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Nara Lokesh tweeted, “Recently I heard that there was a hen which lived for six months without head. What’s the surprise in that when Y.S. Jagan managed to live for five years (sic)?”
