Epic Twitter reactions to airline serving passenger fruits as 'vegetarian meal'
The passenger got served an apple and a pear.
A lot of people may agree food on a plane may not be the best.
But many were left stumped when writer Steve Hogarty tweeted a photo of his vegetarian meal served on Colombia’s Avianca Airlines.
His meal was neatly wrapped in plastic and was accompanied with a knife and fork. However, the meal was a bit of an odd choice for someone who requested a vegetarian meal.
What was it you ask? An apple and a pear. If you don't believe it, well here's his tweet to prove it.
The vegetarian meal on this flight is an apple and a pear wrapped in clingfilm, served with a knife and fork. pic.twitter.com/CT7hypCylb

Needless to say, Hogarty was not the only one dumbfounded by the meal and soon his tweet went viral.
Some people on Twitter had strong reactions and some even shared their own horror stories like this one.
Here's some of what people had to say.
I asked for a veggie meal on a flight once and this is what I got. At least yours was wrapped pic.twitter.com/1yU8GCceO4

Disgraceful. I would have expected this 20 years ago but not now!

this happened to me once on a long haul flight from the UK to Canada. I was given an orange and a kiwi fruit. I was starving.
