Mumbai-headquartered K11 Academy of Fitness Sciences has initiated a massive awareness exercise in association with basketball player Vijobi Vakkachan to educate the young population of Kerala on career opportunities prevailing in the fitness industry across the globe.

Kaizzad Capadia, co-founder and director of the academy, and Vijobi Vakkachan addressed a massive gathering of young boys and girls in Kochi on Monday on the importance of fitness and the numerous courses offered by the institute. The duo added that they were planning to launch more such initiatives in Kerala. “The institution is the first of its kind in India to be internationally recognised by the Register for Exercise Professionals (REPS) India foundation”, said Kaizzad Capadia, adding that the degree holders from the fitness institute would be eligible to work as fitness trainers in the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Ireland, Poland and the United Arab Emirates.

“This is an excellent opportunity for the youth of Kerala to get trained in a reputed training institute,” said Vijobi. The initiative by the academy is currently being funded by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), a body established by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) of Government of India. Through this partnership, the academy is working forward to generate skilled work-force in the fitness industry in the next 10 years.
