A milestone graduation
This fresh batch of homeopaths is gung ho about starting a new innings in life.
Over 40 students graduated with honours at the grand convocation ceremony held at the J.S.P.S. Government Homeopathic Medical College in Ramanthapur recently. What made the occasion special for the graduating class was the fact that this is the Golden Jubilee year of the college. In fact, it was a surprise for the students themselves to witness such a grand ceremony as they had never seen anything like it for any of their seniors. “It’s a historical year for the college that marked an important milestone of our lives as well. The ceremony has given us special memories to cherish,” shares Javvadi Sai Kiran, from the class of 2011-2017. He recalls his journey on campus from being a clueless fresher who’d come to Hyderabad for the first time from Khammam, to becoming the confident doctor he is today.
“On my first day of college, I was mocked for not knowing biological terms in English as I had previously studied in Telugu medium! Life has changed now,” he says. Alongside the graduation, his classmate T.M. Meena Acharya reckons she’ll cherish the experience college has given her. “To have studied from one of the best homoeopathic institutions in India is an honour. We’ve got real-time exposure and are ready to face the world,” she reflects.
While the event was a culmination of a two-day programme, where the first day witnessed cultural shows, the second day was completely dedicated to academic achievers, and of course, the graduates. Nazneen Tabassum, another graduate, summarises the mood of the day saying, “The convocation day was probably the last time we all came together as classmates and for that reason alone, it will remain memorable. It’s all the more special that we got to celebrate it in a very important year for the institution.”
