As a member of the British royal family, Meghan Markle can no longer consume garlic in public, the Daily Mail reported.

Queen Elizabeth reportedly hates garlic and doesn't have it in any of her meals.

Daily Mail quotes Royal Chef at Buckingham Palace, Darren McGrady: "We can never serve anything with garlic or too much onions. The Queen would never have garlic on the menu."

But the Queen’s dislike for it is not the reason the Duchess of Sussex is prohibited from eating the pungent-tasting bulb. It is to avoid having bad breath.

While the Queen may not miss the ingredient, Markle just may as she once revealed her favourite dish is a Filipino-style chicken adobo, which is packed with garlic.

"It's so easy - combine garlic, soy (or Bragg Liquid Aminos), vinegar, maybe some lemon and let the chicken swim in that sauce until it falls off the bone in a Crock Pot," she told Today.

Prince Harry's wife is also not permitted to travel often or eat seafood when she is abroad. This is to avoid the risk of food poisoning.

However, it's not all bad news for Meghan, as she can have her fill of garlic anytime she wants, just in private.
