Been through a Drunkorexia phase off late? If you’re the one trying to self-impose starvation and love to stay on a liquid diet when you’re letting your hair down, just like many “pub city” youngsters, then Mitali Tandon might have a perfect remedy for your hangover cure with Morning Fresh.

The 25-year-old entrepreneur’s unique formulations with active ingredients from silk protein naturally break down the alcohol content in the human body. Her genie in a bottle could be just the drink you need, if you want a fresh and brimming hangover free morning.

“With everyone becoming health conscious it is important that they know what they’re eating and drinking and that’s why this genie in a bottle which is natural, has zero carb and zero fat, will allow you to party without any health concerns as it flushes alcohol out of the system.

The idea came when I joined Sericare; a biotechnology driven start-up by my dad, I came up with product innovations using silk as a bio-material, to add an element of ‘freshness’ to our contemporary lifestyles. During my college and corporate stint I was witness to a lot of hangovers which made me want to be a teetotaller. I was always the designated driver in my group not just for the night, but also the morning after as everyone was suffering from a hangover and that’s when I wished there was something that could get rid of a hangover instantly, so that I could get out these ‘friendly’ duties. When we discovered the formula and realised its impact, it connected with my own driving-around-town-dropping-and-picking-up-friends experiences and I knew that it will resonate with the younger audience,” she states, sharing her story on how Morning Fresh was born.

It wasn’t one fine morning that she woke up and started out. It took two years of extensive research for Mitali and a team of experienced professionals with PhDs in bio technology and chemistry. Explaining how it would help those guzzling bottomless pitchers, Mitali states, “Most Bengalureans love to drink, but a night of partying must not eat into your time the morning after. With a lot of people becoming health conscious, why let a night out make you miss out on a beautiful morning? Carrying a small pocket size drink in your jacket or purse isn’t a hassle, as one needs to have it just before you hit the sack. Make it the last drink of the evening and you will wake up feeling absolutely fresh the morning after.”

The lady who is known to love to conceptualise many ideas and bringing them to life shares, “I also organised Shop For A Cause for four years based on the re-distribution of pre-owned resources for charity and Burger Riot, an annual food festival for two years that brought together the city’s youth to find the city’s best burger. Both my parents are entrepreneurs, so I have grown up in an independent environment.”

When she’s not working, the svelte entrepreneur quips her three vices include travelling, swimming and beach bumming. “I have fond memories of a three-month long summer I spent in Costa Rica volunteering with a local community to help rebuild the village post a disastrous flood.”
