Chennai bags World Record for No Oil No Boil

Dishes made from organic fruits and vegetables were served in eco-friendly products.

Talking about the attempt, Chef Padayal Sivakumar said, All the ingredients used in the dishes today are regular day to day ingredients that a Tamil Nadu household usually uses.

Chef Padayal Sivakumar created a world record by cooking a whopping 300 dishes without using oil or fire in just five minutes, under the supervision of The Geo India Foundation in association with the Airports Authority of India. It was made by 300 people comprising of Airport staff and college students who were trained for 48 hours.

The dishes were made from organic fruits and vegetables and served in eco-friendly products.

 A few interesting items in the 300 dishes include pearl millet laddu, pumpkin kolukattai, fig juice, hibiscus gheer, Ivy guard and mothi bean pasumai koottu, mango pasumporiyal, navadhaniya sprout milk, pomegranate rice, orange rice, Badam pisin jam, tender coconut jam, java plum kesari and sapota payasam.

Talking about the attempt, Chef Padayal Sivakumar said, “All the ingredients used in the dishes today are regular day to day ingredients that a Tamil Nadu household usually uses. This attempt is to show people that one can live a healthy life if they eat a balanced diet. One might wonder how Idly is made without heat, we did it by using flattened rice that doesn’t require to be cooked.”
