New RTC app helps passengers

AMARAVATI: The newly introduced APSRTC city bus mobile application is helping the passengers to reach their destinations in time. The details of city bus routes with timing of Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Tirupati are available in the APSRTC city bus mobile Android application. The facility of spotting a bus in this mobile app is very much helping the public of new capital Amaravati to reach their destinations. The search for nearby bus stops, buses between two locations, city bus timetable, search for bus stops and search by route number are the specialty of the APSRTC mobile city bus Android app.

The Android app developed by TCS is available to the public to download and track the movements of the city buses in the three cities. The number of public to visit Vijayawada and Amaravati increased largely after the shifting of government administration to Vijayawada and announcing Amaravati as the new capital of AP. The APSRTC is operating a number of city buses to Amaravati Capital Region villages from Vijayawada Pandit Nehru Bus Station.

Students, P. Vinay and others who came from Ongole said that the city bus application has very much helped them to go to Uddandarayunipalem, Mandadam, Tullur, Rayapudi and Amaravati. They said that the app is spotting the city bus and showing the arrival time to each bus stop which helped them visit Amaravati capital region without any difficulty and thanked the APSRTC.

Residents of the Guntur, B. Suman and others said that the city bus app helped them for the smooth completion of religious tour of Tirumala and Tirupati. They said that the availability of the buses by spotting of the buses to Tirumala, Kani-pakam, Tirupati, Tiruchanoor, Mangalam, Alipiri, Renigunta and other areas very much helped them and they sought inclusion of Guntur-Vijayawada bus timings in the app. Traders S. Govindarajulu and others said that the Android smartphone usage became a common phenomenon and city bus connectivity information from railway stations is very much useful. They sought inclusion of more cities in the app to serve the public of AP.
