Guntur: The five years effort of starting MD (cardiology) super-specialty course in Guntur Medical College yielded good results this year with approval from the Medical Council of India.

Recently, a team from the MCI visited the GMC but it raised objections. Hence the GMC officials clarified the doubts and the MCI primarily gave permission to MD (cardiology) super-specialty course. The GMC was started in the pre-independent India in the year 1946 and is offering various medical courses and it is famous in medical education.

GMC principal Dr G. Subba Rao said that the college is seeking permission every year to start MD (cardiology) super-specialty course and once applied in August 2016. The MCI team came to Guntur and conducted inspections in GMC and the Government General Hospital (GGH) on March 9 and raised some objections which were clarified by the GMC officials.
