All Andhra Pradesh government hospitals can transplant hearts
Mr Srinivas said that GGH is the first government hospital in AP to perform live heart transplantation surgery.
Amaravati: The state government will start heart transplantation facility in all government hospitals of the Andhra Pradesh.
Minister for medical and health, Dr K. Srinivas visited Government General Hospital (GGH) at Guntur on Friday. He consoled I. Yedukondalu to whom heart transplantation was done in the GGH on May 20 and enquired about his health.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Srinivas said that GGH is the first government hospital in AP and fifth hospital in India to perform live heart transplantation surgery and praised the services of the GGH doctors. He announced that the government will start heart transplantations in all government hospitals of AP under Private Public Partnership (PPP) mode.
He said that 212 Health Centres in AP would be modernised and 278 new mobile medical vehicles will be purchased for mobile treatment through 108 Ambulance service.
Mr Srinivas said that free cancer diagnoses service to women of 35 years and above, would be started in the state hospitals. He said that the women of middle age are prone to cancer and this diagnoses service will help them to prevent cancer in the beginning.
He said that root canal and all type of treatments would be started in the state hospitals.
He stated that the PPP mode in the GGH is very good as 200 above heart surgeries were performed.
He said that two medical ATMs in each district would be started and 10 dialysis units would be started in every district government hospital.
