South Central Railway plans pilgrim train tour
The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation is organising the tour.
Hyderabad: An exclusive train for pilgrimage from the two Telugu states to Vaishno Devi, Golden Temple, Wagah border, Jalianwala Bagh, Haridwar, Mathura, and Brindavan to Agra will be run from Renigunta in Andhra Pradesh via Kacheguda and Kazipet in Telangana.
The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation is organising the tour. “No other passengers except pilgrims will be allowed on the train. There will be a supervisor from IRCTC in every coach to guide the pilgrim passengers,” said IRCTC South Central Zone deputy general manager N. Sanjeevaiah on Wednesday.
The 11-day tour will also include site seeing and shopping by road, the transport for which will be arranged by IRCTC.
Breakfast, lunch, dinner and accommodation is included in the ticket, which will be Rs 9,625 per head in the sleeper class and Rs 13,075 per head for a pilgrimage in a three-tier air conditioned coach.
Mr Sanjeevaiah said the tour would start at noon from Renigunbta railway station on November 8 and would return on November 18. Those interested to go on the pilgrimage can book tickets on irctctourism.com or contact at IRCTC offices.
