Mysuru zoo gets four new members
A female gaur has given birth to a calf.

Bengaluru: The Mysuru zoo has new guests. It has received four pairs of rosy pelicans, a pair of swamp deer and one female striped hyena from Nawab Wazid Ali Shah Prani Udyan, Lucknow, on animal exchange programme. Pelicans and swamp deer are being exhibited for visitors, according to Zoo Executive Director Kamala.
Meanwhile at the zoo, a female gaur has given birth to a calf, and also a red necked wallaby has given birth to a joe. Both animals that are housed in enclosures are visible to visitors, she said.
A six-year-old female Asiatic lion, Ranita, received from Sakkarbaugh Zoo, Junagadh, Gujarat, is also likely to be released for public viewing next Wednesday, she said.
