International Museum Week from May 16 to 21 at Salar Jung
An exhibition of 75 items commemorating 75 years of Indian Independence will be on display
HYDERABAD: The International Museum week will be held from May 16 to 21 at the Salar Jung Museum. Museum director Dr Nagender Reddy said several events have been arranged to celebrate ‘International Museum Day’ on May 18 under the Union ministry of culture. He added that the theme is “Museum of Priority”.
An exhibition of 75 items commemorating 75 years of Indian Independence will be on display. School children will be trained in arts, crafts, drawing and more. A one day workshop/presentation and lecture will be held on Bidri art.
Special art exhibition by 75 artists of Hyderabad Art Society will also be organised. Cash prizes for winners of photography competition on museum items organised is also scheduled in the International Museum Week celebrations.
A special lecture on “Humour in European Art” and webinar on “Preventive Conservation” will be organised as well. Cultural programmes by Telangana folk artists (under the auspices of the ICCR Program Division) will be conducted.
Hyderabad Art Society president, Ramana Reddy and Intach Hyderabad Chapter convener Anuradha Reddy, photo Club president Janardha Reddy, curators Dr Khusum, Dr Nayak, Salar Jung Museum Adviser M. Virendra and other officials were present.
