Artillery Centre Hyderabad Marks 63rd Raising Day with Veteran Outreach

Hyderabad: The Artillery centre Hyderabad celebrated its 63rd Raising Day with a special ‘veterans outreach’ event, bringing together nearly 300 Gunner veterans from the twin cities. The event was a tribute to the veterans who had served the regiment, reaffirming the centre’s commitment to honouring and supporting its retired personnel.

In preparation for the event, the Artillery centre undertook a significant outreach initiative, contacting approximately 1,200 veterans. This effort was not merely a ceremonial gesture but a dedicated attempt to update their records and address various concerns raised by these veterans. It was an event that centred on interaction and resolution of issues that are paramount to the veteran community.

Brigadier Rajiv Chauhan, commandant and chief executive instructor of the Artillery centre Hyderabad, launched the proceedings, which included a special screening of a film highlighting the centre’s training activities, its current operations and the high standards maintained by them.

The director of Zila Sainik Board, director of the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), and the Colonel Veteran HQ Telangana & Andhra Sub Area (TASA) were among those who addressed the large gathering. They provided insights and updates on the various welfare schemes and facilities available to the veterans. In a moving gesture, the senior-most veterans were felicitated for their long and dedicated service.

A notable feature of the event was the central venue that served as a hub for various stakeholders involved in veterans' welfare. Representatives from Artillery records, Zila Sainik board, ECHS, Veteran cell HQ TASA and seven national banks were present to assist veterans in resolving their issues. The hands-on approach was applauded by the veterans.

Also present on the memorable occasion were major general S.B.K. Singh, director general of resettlement, and Dr. Pudi Hari Prasad, joint secretary of the department of ex-servicemen welfare.
