Hyderabad:A 65-year-old was allegedly gang-raped by three men on Thursday night, Medchal police said on Friday.According to ACP Shanker Reddy, the woman and the suspected accused were neighbours.

On Thursday night, the accused had reportedly called the woman to one Venkata Rao's house for cooking. Later in the night, all the four consumed alcohol and the victim fell asleep.

On Friday morning, the victim woke up and noticed she was bleeding. When she reached out to the police, they started an investigation. The ACP said that Venkata Rao, 30, confessed to the crime, but denied the presence of the others.

However, the victim claimed there were three people involved, but the role of the other two has not been established yet, according to the ACP. A preliminary medical examination of the victim's health has benefits done and further investigation is underway.

Two Arrested for Transporting Ganja via Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Rajendranagar special operations team and Dundigal police arrested two persons while transporting 86 kg of dry ganja from Odisha to Delhi via Hyderabad, near ORR Exit No. 5, Dundigal, on Friday. The arrested accused were identified as Sunindra Kumar Singh of Odisha, the transporter and Laxmi, of Malkangiri. Amit Agarwal of Delhi, main supplier Raju from Berhampur and Shiva, another transporter, are absconding, police said.

DCA Seizes Steroids Worth Rs 2 Lakh in Koti

Hyderabad: The Drugs Control Administration (DCA) on Friday raided ‘Rakesh Distributor’ in Koti and seized 22 varieties of steroids that the establishment was storing, including androgen and anabolic steroids, worth ₹2 lakh. The police booked cases against owner Rakesh Kanodia. The DCA also raided Srikanth Neurocentre at Miyapur which was found operating a medical shop without a drug licence. Officials seized 31 varieties of medicines valued ₹1.01 lakh.

Youth Attacked During Ganesha Fete

Hyderabad:In an attempted hate crime, 26-year-old Panikara Sai a.k.a. Moksh Yadav was attacked with a knife while operating a DJ system during the recent Ganesh immersion procession. The accused, Mahesh, bore a grudge against Sai as his sister, Manasa, had married the victim against her family’s wishes about a year ago.

They both belong to the same caste, police said.

Following the attack, Sai was rushed to a private Hospital in Keesara, where he received four stitches and was later discharged. Meanwhile, police apprehended Mahesh. Manasa filed a complaint with the Ghatkesar police prompting them to register a case of attempted murder.
