A 29-year-old construction worker has been arrested in Goa for allegedly raping a four-year-old girl, of European origin, near his residence.
The girl's family has been living in India since 2016 and has frequently visited Goa. The family relocated to Goa two months ago.
A couple of days ago, the girl's mother lodged a complaint with the police that the accused committed the crime when the victim was playing with the man's daughter at his rented shed.
The accused is a native of Bihar and both the families live in the same neighbourhood.
The accused was booked under various section of POCSO and the Goa Children's Act. The accused has been placed under arrest.
