Hyderabad:A six-year-old boy died on Monday in Hayathnagar after his school’s gate collapsed while he and his friends were playing with it.

The deceased, A. Ajay, was studying in Class 1 at MPP School in Hayathnagar. The tragic incident, according to police, occurred at 4 pm, when the boy was standing on the gate, while his friends were pushing and pulling it in a playful mood.

However, as its welding joints loosened, the gate fell on the boy causing severe head injuries. He was taken to Vanasthalipuram Area Hospital, where he succumbed to the injuries.

A. Chandu, the father of the deceased, filed a complaint with the Hayathnagar police.

His father said he had no chance to study and was dreaming of seeing his son educated. “My son was playing with the gate. They shifted my son in an autorickshaw to the hospital and he died. I received a call at 5.30 in the evening. I was not informed for an hour nor did they call an ambulance. I was informed by other parents.”

A case is registered against the school principal under BNS Section 106(1)B and is on the lookout.
