Man Dies Fleeing Police Raid on Poker Game, Locals Claim Brutality

Hyderabad: A 43-year-old man, Vinay, jumped from the third floor of a house to escape the police during a raid on a poker game and died, Lalapet police said. The task force was raided the after receiving a tip-off about a poker session in progress.

Locals claimed that Vinay had jumped because he feared that he would be beaten by the police. They alleged that the police had begun beating up people who were playing poker.

Ch Nagaraju of the Lalaguda police said that a case had been registered and investigations were on.
