Hyderabad:A case of road rage escalated into a knife fight involving over a dozen people in Choutuppal, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, early on Tuesday morning, leaving five persons injured including three with stab wounds.

One victim was critically injured and underwent surgery. He is now out of danger. The police have detained eight suspects involved in the incident.

The violence erupted when Amir, Fariuddin and four others from Saroornagar drove to Choutuppal Town to visit a friend. On their way back, they recklessly drove through a residential area, angering locals.

A group of individuals on motorcycles pursued the car until it came to a stop at Mythri Ventures. Tensions escalated when the group confronted the car occupants who retaliated with knives.

During the chaos, Arun Kumar, Balakrishna Reddy and Surender suffered stab wounds. Arun Kumar, who was seriously hurt, underwent surgery at a hospital and is out of danger.

The car occupants fled into a nearby building. Three of them, hiding in a room, were captured by the public and handed over to the police. Three others managed to evade capture by jumping from the second floor of the building.

Both parties filed counter complaints with Choutuppal police, prompting the police to register charges under sections of 'attempted murder' and 'unlawful assembly' involving more than five individuals.

While the investigation is ongoing, it is likely that there will be more arrests in the case.
