Vallabhaneni's followers held for attack on TD leader

Vijayawada:Gannavaram police on Tuesday arrested Olupalli Mohan Ranga, Anagani Ravi, Bhimavarapu Yethendra, Rama Krishna, Mechineni Babu, Surapaneni Anil and Gurram Nani, followers of former Gannavaram MLA and YSRC leader Vallabhaneni Vamsi, in connection with the attack on TD leader Kasaneni Ranga Babu before the general elections.

According to information, the police took the seven accused arrested to Kankipadu for interrogation. Later they brought them back to Gannavaram police station.

The accused had allegedly assaulted Ranga Babu, who had resigned from YSRC and joined the TD before the 2024 general assembly elections, at the Park Elite hotel in Gannavaram constituency. Although Ranga Babu had filed a complaint with police after the incident, no action had been taken against the accused at that time.
