Khammam: A farmer, Bhojadla Prabhakar, died by suicide at Produtur village in Khammam district on Tuesday. Before taking the extreme step the victim recorded a video in which he alleged that four persons had damaged crops in his two acres of agricultural land using excavating machine.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday took a serious note of the suicide and ordered officials to conduct a comprehensive investigation immediately and take stringent action against those responsible for the incident.

In a video, which the farmer posted on the social media before dying by suicide, he alleged that Pendala Rama Das, Gurram Naga Malleshwar Rao and Mogili Sathaiah had damaged crops in his agricultural land in Survey Nos. 276 and 277 at Produtur. He complained to the tehsildar and sub-inspector of Chinthakani, but no action was taken. He also tried to meet the district
collector but couldn’t meet the official. He also requested Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka to do justice to his family members after his death.
Responding to the incident, agriculture minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao instructed the revenue department officials to conduct an inquiry into the suicide case and submit a report to him. He also requested the farmers not to resort to extreme steps over land disputes. He said that the state government would lay focus on resolving land disputes in villages. Unlike
the previous BRS government, farmers will get justice in the Congress regime, the minister maintained.
