Tirupati: Agriculture minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy levelled serious allegations against district collector and election officer of Nellore M. Hari Narayanan, accusing him of displaying partisan behaviour towards the Telugu Desam (TD) and failing to conduct the elections in a fair manner.

Addressing a press conference in Nellore on Sunday, Kakani claimed that even when presented with video evidence of the TD’s Sarvepalli candidate Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy distributing money, Narayanan brushed it off, stating they did so out of humanity. The minister asserted that such a justification had no precedent in the history of the state or the nation.
"The district election officer acted in a blatantly biased manner. He completely failed to provide even basic facilities to voters and election staff on polling day. In my entire political career, I have never witnessed such an officer,” the minister alleged.

The agriculture minister further demanded the appointment of a special observer for the counting process scheduled for June 4 in Nellore district. He expressed apprehensions about potential irregularities if collector Narayanan continues as the district election officer during the counting. He vowed to present evidence substantiating all his allegations against Narayanan
