Suspended DSP’s Remarks on Stampede Victim Spark Row

Hyderabad: Suspended Nizamabad district task force DSP Vishnu Murthy on Sunday held a press conference and said that Tollywood actor Allu Arjun should not provide compensation to the family of the Sandhya theatre stampede victim as it would constitute a bribe.
Murthy’s services were attached to the DGP office and was subsequently suspended in October 2024.
Central zone DCP Akshansh Yadav stated that Murthy had conducted the press meet without obtaining permission from higher authorities or intimating senior officers. “This action is a clear violation of disciplinary norms,” he said. The DCP said a report would be forwarded to the DGP for investigation and action.
