Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government is gearing up for the distribution of NTR Bharosa pensions on July 1. Chief Secretary Neerabh Kumar Prasad held a video conference with district collectors on Saturday to finalize the disbursement plan.
A sum of Rs 4,399.89 crore has been released to cover pensions for all 65,18,496 beneficiaries across the state. Village and ward secretariat staff will spearhead the distribution process, starting at 6:00 AM on July 1st.
District collectors have been instructed to involve staff from other departments if needed to ensure smooth and swift distribution. The goal is to distribute 100% of pensions on the first day, with a minimum target of exceeding 95% completion. Collectors will also be responsible for hourly monitoring of the distribution process.
Pensioners will receive a combined payment encompassing dues for April, May, June, and the July 2024 monthly stipend of Rs 4,000.
The Chief Secretary emphasised the importance of swift banking procedures. He directed that all government-allocated funds for pension distribution be withdrawn by banks by Saturday night. In case of any delays, banks have been instructed to remain open on Sunday to facilitate the withdrawal process.
