Bhubaneswar: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Jagat Prakash Nadda is set to arrive in Bhubaneswar on Thursday for a one-day visit to Odisha.
According to the party’s general secretary, Jatin Mohanty, Nadda is expected to land in Bhubaneswar at 10:30 am on Thursday. During his visit, he will engage in various party activities before departing for New Delhi in the afternoon.
“Nadda’s visit is aimed at boosting our Sadasyata Abhiyan, or membership drive, to make it more inclusive,” Mohanty said, emphasising that party workers are the backbone of the organisation.
Odisha BJP state unit chief Manmohan Samal mentioned that Nadda will attend a meeting with party MPs, MLAs, and other office-bearers to discuss the ongoing membership drive. The discussions will focus on strategies to expand the party's membership base in the state.
During his visit, Nadda will pay tribute to the statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at AG Square in Bhubaneswar. He will also participate in an intellectual meeting and hold discussions regarding the membership drive at the party headquarters.
The Sadasyata Abhiyan-2024 was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on September 2, followed by the launch in Odisha by BJP state chief Manmohan Samal on September 3 in the presence of chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi and other senior leaders.
In the previous membership drive held six years ago, the BJP claimed to have enrolled 42 lakh members in the state. This year, the party aims to add five lakh new members.
For membership enrollment, the BJP has provided a toll-free number: 8800002024.
