Mangaluru: In a sharp critique of the Central Government, Large and Medium Industries Minister MB Patil alleged on Sunday that progressive states like Karnataka are being unfairly treated in the allocation of funds. Despite the Central Government collecting a substantial annual cess of Rs 2.5 lakh crore, these states are not receiving their fair share, he claimed.

“In the Dis-Guise of Cess, Center is collecting close to Rs 2,50,000 crore per Year, worth of so-called cess, to basically deprive the states. States are being deprived of its share of taxes. Especially performing states like Karnataka. Maybe the states should file a PIL before the Hon Supreme Court?” Patil stated in a post on X.
In his post, Patil also tagged Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, highlighting the broader impact on other states.
