Steve Jobs' wife offers prayers at Kashi Vishwanath temple

Laurene Powell Jobs, philanthropist and wife of the late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, visited the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi on Friday. Accompanied by Kailashanand Giri Ji Maharaj of the Niranjani Akhara, she offered prayers at the iconic temple, which is revered as one of the holiest shrines in Hinduism.
The duo was received with traditional rituals by temple authorities. Powell Jobs expressed her reverence for the spiritual and cultural significance of the temple, which draws millions of devotees annually.
Talking to media, the Maharaj said that Laurene Powell Jobs followed the traditions of the temple, and is also planning to attend the Mahakumbh and take a dip in the Ganga.

“As per our Indian tradition, in Kashi Vishwanath, no other Hindu can touch the Shivling. That’s why she was made to see the Shivling from outside… She will also stay in Kumbh and take a dip in Ganga,” he said.
