Indian student found dead in US
Karimnagar:A 25-year-old youth, Bandi Vamshi, was found dead under suspicious circumstances in a car parked in the basement of his apartment in Minnesota, USA. Vamshi, hailing from Madannapet village in Kamalapur mandal, Huzurabad constituency, had gone to the US to pursue an MS from Concordia Saint Paul University.
Residing in room 206 of the Magnolia Trail Eden Prairie apartment, Vamshi was found dead on December 21. While initial reports suggested suicide, the manner of his death has raised suspicions among authorities and his family.
Residents of the apartment complex were shocked upon finding the body and promptly the police. A neighbour from Kantatmakur mandal in Warangal district contacted Vamshi’s parents to inform them of the tragedy.
G. Charan Patel, former village sarpanch of Madannapet, told Deccan Chronicle that Vamshi’s father, Rajaiah, is a toddy tapper and farmer who had high hopes for his son’s education abroad. Rajaiah, who dreamed of Vamshi achieving greater heights, was devastated by the news of his son’s death.
The incident has been brought to the attention of Union minister of state for home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar and Congress Huzurabad Assembly constituency in-charge V. Pranav Babu. Vamshi’s family has requested their assistance in repatriating his body to India and ensuring a thorough investigation into the matter.
Authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of Vamshi’s death.
