Prakasam: Teenager delivers baby in school bathroom, newborn dies
Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a 16-year-old girl from Cheemakurthi mandal in Prakasam district in Andhra Pradesh delivered a baby in the bathroom of her school on Wednesday.
However, the baby died within a few minutes after birth. The girl has been suffering from labour pain after she came to Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidhyalaya in Kothapatnam in the district in the morning but she did not inform anyone.
She later went to the bathroom. When the girl failed to return to attend the classes, the teaching staff and her classmates checked in the bathroom and found her in a serious condition.
The staff rushed her to Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ongole where she is undergoing treatment. The school staff was unaware of her pregnancy. Police started a probe to trace the person responsible for her pregnancy.
